ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

In-Class Assignment # 4 worth 5%

PREPARING FOR PATH

Purpose: To gauge the student’s understanding of concepts and theories taught in class that pertain to developing the right attitude for Person-centered Planning

Skills and Understanding: The purpose of this assignment is to help students practice the following skill of creating a PATH using the principles of Person-Directed Planning These skills are essential to the student's success in this course, in college, in the DSW field, and professional life.

Task: The students will attempt to understand the process of holding a Person Directed Plans meeting in groups and will work in groups creating a PATH for the Focus person assigned to their group as a case study.

The students will:

1. Understand what attitude is necessary for a facilitator to plan the person-directed planning process with social role valorization.

2. Self-reflect, discuss and collaborate with their team members.

3. Apply critical thinking skills and strike a safe and reasonable balance between acting from the heart and following structural rules....
